Work Experience.
At Nightingale, we recognise the value of work experience in helping young people explore careers in healthcare and make informed decisions about their future.
Healthcare offers a wide range of roles beyond doctors and nurses, including administrative, support, and specialist positions. Work experience provides a valuable insight into the day-to-day reality of working in a healthcare setting, helping individuals build confidence, develop new skills, and consider the career path that’s right for them.
We typically offer work experience placements for Year 10 students and individuals aged 16 and over, giving them the opportunity to gain meaningful experience in a real working environment.
However, while the site undergoes its final phase of development, we regretfully need to pause our work experience offering. This phase of work will limit our ability to provide the meaningful, high quality experience we want students to have. We plan to reopen the programme in the summer of 2027 and will share further updates as we move closer to that date.
Nightingale is hosted by the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. For more information about work experience, training, and development opportunities, please visit the Royal Devon website.
Thank you for your interest in Nightingale and for considering us as part of your career journey.
