Dawn recently underwent a surgical procedure at the Nightingale Centre of Excellence for Eyes and has expressed her gratitude for the care and professionalism she experienced throughout the process.
She was especially appreciative of Miss Goodluck, her initial contact via telephone, for explaining the process thoroughly and ensuring she was well-informed about how the surgery would benefit her. Dawn also acknowledged the efforts of the team, including Nici Buckley, for keeping her informed about necessary cancellations, which made her feel cared for and never left in the dark.
Reflecting on her experience, Dawn shared that her procedure went smoothly from start to finish. From being greeted calmly by John at Reception to Mirela’s patient and unhurried pre-op tests, she felt well looked after at every stage. She was particularly thankful for Mr. Juan Carlos Ruiz Morande, who not only performed the surgery but also took the time to explain potential complications, reassuring her throughout.
Dawn also mentioned Mandy who accompanied her to the theatre, and Fin, the Charge Nurse, whose humour helped her feel relaxed. She expressed admiration for the whole surgical team, noting how quickly and smoothly everything went, and also thanked Emily for her kind interaction after surgery.
Ken, who handled her discharge, left a lasting impression as well—her blend of thoroughness, humour, and strict guidance on post-op care made her feel both informed and supported.
In her post-surgery reflection, Dawn mentioned how pleased she was with the result: ” I was able – in good light – to read the small print on a food label using both eyes together (right eye with the new distance lens and left eye with no replacement lens at all), which would have been impossible before the cataract surgery.” She was also impressed with the centre’s comfortable waiting room, where she could observe other patients returning from surgery, which provided reassurance to those waiting for their turn.
In closing, Dawn thanked the entire Nightingale team, and especially Mr. Ruiz Morande, for their kindness, expertise, and the successful outcome of her surgery.
