Nightingale Hospital Exeter Rated ‘Good’ by the CQC.

We are pleased to announce that the Care Quality Commission’s June 2025 planned inspection, the very first for Nightingale, has rated our service as Good overall.

The report highlighted many positive aspects of our hospital, including:

  • Compassion and dedication of staff – patients consistently felt listened to, respected, and cared for.
  • Exceptional quality of patient care – inspectors praised the high standards delivered across services.
  • Strong leadership – recognised for fostering a culture of improvement and patient?centred care.
  • Positive patient feedback – patients reported feeling safe, supported, and valued during their treatment.
  • Commitment to innovation – the hospital was noted for embracing new approaches and striving to improve.

While the CQC noted that some improvements are required, clear action plans are already underway to strengthen these areas. At Nightingale, we welcome this feedback as part of our commitment to learning and development, and we are always striving to improve the care and services we provide. Patients and families can be reassured that Nightingale remains a safe, trusted, and compassionate provider of outstanding healthcare.
