Nightingale Open Days Showcase Innovative Care Pathways.

Teams based at Nightingale continue to welcome visitors from healthcare organisations across the country to learn more about our innovative ways of working and how they are improving patient care.

Our South West Ambulatory Orthopaedic Centre (SWAOC) and Centre of Excellence for Eyes (CEE) regularly host open days, offering colleagues the opportunity to see first-hand how our clinical pathways operate and to share learning that can be applied within their own services.

Feedback from visitors has been overwhelmingly positive, with many describing the sessions as both inspiring and highly beneficial.

One attendee commented:

“It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm from all members of staff. We have used the SWAOC pathway as a framework for our own and are looking to roll it out formally very soon. It was fantastic to discuss some of the intricacies of the protocol with members of staff and learn from their experiences. Thank you for a great visit which was very well set up and delivered.”

Another visitor said:

“This was an excellent, informative afternoon. The content is super useful and myself and my team are really grateful that you provide these open afternoons. We were also made to feel extremely welcome by the team – thank you once again.”

The Interim Chief Operating Officer at Derby Hospital Trust added:

“In a world where we are constantly battling against a myriad of challenges, it was so refreshing to see a ray of light as to how we can transform our services. Your leadership, energy and positivity shone through, giving our clinical and operational leads a real sense of ‘we can do this’. For that, I would like to say a huge thank you.”

Reflecting on the success of the open days, Dr Elizabeth Wilkinson, Consultant Ophthalmologist and Clinical Lead for Ophthalmic Diagnostics at the CEE, said:

“We’re really proud of the feedback we’ve received about our open days. They’ve been a great opportunity to showcase our innovative clinical pathways and the difference they’re making for patients.”

To date, Nightingale has hosted over 461 visitors from more than 74 organisations, supporting others to transform services and ultimately improve patient experience and outcomes.

The next SWAOC open day will take place on Thursday 12 February, with the next CEE open day on Friday 27 February.
